Development, production and racing history.

Individual chassis record.

Includes GT40 parts list.

High quality artpaper production. Heavily illustrated. Colour throughout.

When Enzo Ferrari refused to sell his company to Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford II unleashed his fury in a car called the GT40. Read all about the sports car that was built specifically to beat Ferrari at the classic Le Mans 24-hour race -- and win it did, scoring four consecutive victories from 1966 to 1969. Learn the details of how Ford expanded its horizons, and find out what became of the cars that were built to achieve that goal, including their race successes. The author also details the road-going version of the GT40. Featured are many new unpublished action photographs, a reproduction of the GT40 parts manual, and the histories of each of the chassis numbers.

Independent Reviews

Review by The Daily Express, February 2005

Ok, itís taken years of therapy and personality building character sessions but I think Iím finally brave enough to say it: I love Citroen 2Cvs. With a particular soft spot for the Dyane and the 2CV van, the tin snail has a very special place in my heart as the kind of anti-car that motor manufacturers just arenít brave enough to build any more.

Just as well then that Lindsay Porterís latest restoration manual on Franceís favourite car has just been published, including the most staggering detail and a step-by-step guide to restoration.
